Uitleg
Het is een kleine boom die endemisch is voor Victoria, beperkt tot het gebied van Davies Plain in het zuidwesten tot Omeo, Dargo High Plains en de bovenloop van de Jamieson River, op riviervlakten in het hoge land, maar ook op lagere hoogten aan de Buckland River. Het epitheton van deze soort is van het Latijnse neglectus, verwaarloosd, blijkbaar omdat de soort aanvankelijk niet als onderscheidend werd herkend.

Botanische beschrijving
Het is een boom of mallee tot 7m hoog. Het vormt een lignotuber. De schors is ruw, vezelig, in de lengte, gespleten en grijs tot bruin op de stam van grotere planten, verder glad, grijsgroen tot geelbruin, kroon soms lintachtig. De twijgen zijn soms poederachtig. De nieuwe groeitoppen zijn vrij poederachtig. De stengel is vierkant in dwarsdoorsnede, soms poederachtig.
De jonge bladeren zijn tegenoverstaand, sessiel, elliptisch tot ovaal, 4,8-7,5cm lang, 4-5,2cm breed, de rand heel of gekarteld, aanvankelijk grijsgroen maar snel verwerend tot groen. De kroon van volwassen bomen bestaat voornamelijk uit jonge bladeren met enkele tussenliggende en volwassen lancetvormige bladeren. De kroonbladeren zijn tegenoverstaand, half-tegenoverstaand of afwisselend, bladsteel 0-2,3cm lang. Het blad is lancetvormig tot ovaal tot elliptisch tot langwerpig, 7-18cm lang, 2,4-9cm breed, vlak of golvend, basis stengelomcirkelend tot afgerond of taps toelopend, aan beide kanten dezelfde kleur of verkleurd, glanzend, groen tot een beetje grijsgroen, zijaders op een grotere hoek dan 45° tot hoofdnerf, dicht tot zeer dicht netvormig, intramarginale ader goed verwijderd van de rand, olie-klieren aanwezig.
De bloeiwijze is onvertakt okselstandig, steeltjes 0-0,5cm lang. Er zijn 7 tot 15 knoppen per bloemscherm, sessiel. De volwassen knoppen zijn eivormig, 0,3-0,6cm lang, 0,3-0,5cm breed, groen en rood of grijsgroen, lichtjes schuin in de lengterichting, litteken aanwezig, operculum kegelvormig tot afgerond. De meeldraden zijn onregelmatig gebogen of naar binnen verbogen, helmknoppen rechthoekig tot langwerpig, veelzijdig, aan de rug bevestigd, open door longitudinale spleten (niet-samenvloeiend). De stijl is lang, de stempel is stomp, 3 of 4 locules. De bloemen zijn wit.
De vrucht is sessiel, komvormig of omgekeerd kegelvormig, 0,3-0,4cm lang, 0,4-0,7cm breed, enigszins schuin in de lengterichting, soms poederachtig, schijf meestal verhoogd ringvormig of vlak, 3 of 4 kleppen, licht uitgestoken of bijna rand niveau. De zaden zijn bruin of grijs, 1-2mm lang, eivormig of afgeplat eivormig, vaak puntig aan één uiteinde, met kleine holtes, dorsaal oppervlak gepit, hilum ventraal.
De jonge bladeren zijn tegenoverstaand, sessiel, elliptisch tot ovaal, 4,8-7,5cm lang, 4-5,2cm breed, de rand heel of gekarteld, aanvankelijk grijsgroen maar snel verwerend tot groen. De Geslacht: Eucalyptus Ondergeslacht: Symphyomyrtus Sectie: Maidenaria Ondersectie: Euryote Serie: Neglectae heeft de volgende kenmerken: Uen grote groep soorten min of meer beperkt tot het zuidoosten van Australië, gekenmerkt door tweebobige zaadlobben, eenvoudige okselbloeiwijzen, knoppen met twee opercula, meeldraden met veelzijdige helmknoppen en afgeplatte zaden met een ventrale hilum. Binnen deze sectie staat Eucalyptus neglecta alleen in de serie Neglectae.
Nuttige plant
Het is duidelijk dat planten niet worden geëxploiteerd voor hout of, in significante mate, voor de productie van honing. De soort is nuttig voor windschermen, beschutting en beplanting van voorzieningen.

LENTE Selecteer de grootste en meest vlezige BRUINE zaden. Zaai de zaden op 2mm diepte in de Drainerende zaaigrond tussen 20-25°C. Tijdens het ontkiemen het substraat vochtig en in het daglicht houden. De zaden ontkiemen in 3-6 weken.
Het gemiddelde zaadgewicht is 220,3 per gram (0,00454g).
